Archbishop Lori’s Message about the Annual Appeal For Pastors
This year’s Annual Appeal is all about helping us Go Forward with God’s Mission, and we know how much your leadership matters in making that happen. Archbishop Lori has put together a video to thank you and offer a few words as we get ready for the appeal weekends.

Your leadership is essential. When you stand before your parishioners during the appeal weekends, you have the opportunity to connect their generosity with the life-changing ministries happening across the Archdiocese.
A Few Key Reminders for Appeal Weekends
Announcement Weekend (January 25-26):
This is your chance to set the stage. When you deliver the appeal script, let your passion and belief in these ministries shine through. Parishioners need to see how the parish rebate supports local needs—whether for youth programs, building repairs, or community outreach. When they understand the direct impact, they’re more likely to give.
Commitment Weekend (February 1-2):
Those three to five minutes during Mass are crucial. It might feel long, but it’s one of the most effective moments of the entire appeal. Take that time to invite everyone to fill out their pledge cards, and lead by example by completing your own.
Follow-Up Weekend (February 8-9):
A simple thank you can go a long way. Use this weekend to express gratitude to those who have already contributed and gently encourage others to take part. It’s not too late to make an impact.

The ministries supported by the Annual Appeal reach far beyond any single parish. From Catholic education to outreach programs, the work we do together as an Archdiocesan family makes Christ’s love present throughout Maryland. Archbishop Lori’s message is a reminder that your leadership plays a vital role in making this happen.
Thank you for everything you do for your parish and our Archdiocese. We are here to support you every step of the way.
