Above is a video message from Archbishop Lori with guidance for pastors and business managers as we approach the Annual Appeal. It’s a helpful starting point as you prepare for Announcement and Commitment Weekends.

Resources to Help You Prepare

To make planning easier, we’ve gathered everything you need in one place on the Annual Appeal Resource Page. The best place to get started is by downloading the Appeal flyer to print and insert in your bulletin and to review the weekend pastor scripts so you have to time to formulate your message!

Key resources include:

  • Bulletin flyer for Announcement Weekend and Commitment Weekend. This flyer is ready to place directly into your bulletin and are designed to introduce the Appeal and invite participation in a clear, simple way.

  • Pastor scripts for each weekend are available. They are intended as guides, something you can review, adapt, and put into your own words so the message sounds natural and authentic to you and your parish.

For many parishioners, the first time they will hear about the Annual Appeal is at Mass. Because of that, these weekends carry more weight than any mailing or follow-up communication.

Thank you for the care and attention you give to these weekends and for the many ways you support the mission of the Church throughout the year. Your leadership makes a meaningful difference, both in your parish and across the Archdiocese.

If questions come up or additional support would be helpful, our team is ready to assist.
