2022 Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries

Let us Give Thanks to the Lord our God

“In the Eucharist, Jesus draws close to us: let us not turn away from those around us.” - Pope Francis, Feast of Corpus Christi, 2020

As the Eucharist makes sacred the Mass, enlivens it, so too, we the faithful are the life force of this local Church. The Annual Appeal provides a direct connection between our celebration of the Year of the Eucharist and our call to stewardship, the generous response of missionary disciples.

The Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries helps sustain and strengthen more than 105 archdiocesan ministries and programs that are critical to so many in our community in need. Whether our constituents require spiritual or material sustenance or both, you can be sure that there is an Appeal-funded program that will help.

Your enthusiastic and impassioned promotion of the 2022 Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries is vital!

As we once again prepare to launch another Appeal, an initiative crucial to the sustained strength and vigor of so many ministries and programs of our Archdiocese, below are a few key highlights:

Parish Goals & Share

As a reminder, there have been some updates to the structure of Appeal goals and parish shares. In February 2021, the Central Service Task Force shared a report at the Priest meetings with Archbishop Lori reflecting changes to the structure of Parish Goals and Parish Share for the Annual Appeal.

In 2022, two goals will be provided to each parish:

• Standard goal 9% of the offertory

• Stretch goal 12% of the offertory

To allow for more flexibility in allocating resources to the ministries, beginning in 2022, parishes will be eligible to receive the following rebates based on performance to the goal:

• 10% up to the standard goal

• 40% above standard but below stretch goal

• 75% above stretch goal

The school tuition match and the opportunity to apply for grants are still available.

As always, be sure to keep in touch with your Regional Director!

Please reach out to your Regional Director with specific questions about the 2022 dates, your parish goals, and rebates. They will also be able to connect you with AOB Fiscal for additional support with the new goal/rebate structure.
